Happy Wednesday! How is it already the end of February? Can anyone else not believe that?
I was recently tagged by the lovely Jasmine (Jasmine’s Reading Blog) to take a stab at the fun 3 Quotes, 3 Days tag that’s making its rounds. I want to give her a special shout out since I’m just getting started with this blog, and this my first tag 🙂 Thanks for the love, girl!

Quote #1
The past was a bridge that looked solid and sturdy, but once you were on it, you saw that it extended only far enough to strand you, to suspend you between loss and longing with nowhere to go at all.
~ Bret Anthony Johnston
This beauty of a quote is from Remember Me Like This, a gorgeously written story about a teenage boy who has been miraculously found four years after being kidnapped and how his family must piece together a new normal.
I like this quote because it reminds me that it’s far too easy to get caught up in what ifs looking back, but everything looks better in hindsight. The moment that counts the most is now.
I can get weighted down by the past in a couple different ways. There’s getting too tangled up in things that went wrong, moments that I wish I had another shot at because now I know what I could do to get them right. But there’s also the opposite: those perfect snapshot moments that I wish I could return to, that I wish could stretch on forever. The grass is always greener, right?
A 2018 goal for me is staying present, and that’s no easy task. Anyone else here struggle with staying anchored in the now?
I’m tagging …
